Rust Destroya is a completely soluble, crystalline-granular product. Dissovled in water it produces a safe, powderful and reusable soak solution for removing corrosion from ferrous metal surfaces. Unlike acidic rust removers, Rust Destroya will not damage the substrate metal.

DIRECTIONS

EYE PROTECTION AND PROTECTIVE GLOVES SHOULD BE WORN AT ALL TIMES.

Dissolve 1Kg of Rust Destroya in 19L of water. Use warm to hot tap water to speed the solubilisation. If a smaller volume of soak solution is required a 5% solution by weight is recommended (1 part Rust Destroya to 19 parts water).

For most applications, a 5% solution is sufficent but higher concentrations may be used for heavy corrosion.

Use plastic or stainless steel containers for Rust Destroya solution. Steel or Galvanised Iron should not be used.

Test Rust Destroya on a inconspicuous and painted place on item before use.

Dirt, grease, oil and other contaminants should be removed from items to be treated.

Loose or flaky rust should be removed mechanically prior to treatment.

The rusted surface must be completely submerged in the soak solution by tilting and rolling item to ensure air bubbles are removed. Inspect the item periodically and brush with a stiff-bristled brush to remove loosened rust and surface build up. Continue soaking until the surface is clean and rust free. When all of the rust has been removed, brush as necessary, rinse with water and dry.

Rust Destroya soak solution will work in as little as 20 minutes for light rust or overnight for heavily rusted metal.

Speed of rust removal action is temperature dependent; warm = faster, cold = slower. Very fast rust removal can be achieved by heating the soak solution to 50°C-70°C using an immerison heater. The soak solution may be re-used until its colour changes to very dark yellow / black.

Note: Rust Destroya soak solution does not etch metal surfaces. If repairing a petrol tank. Ensure tank surface is etched with MCS Rust Prep (TS8) and resealed with MCS Premium Tank Sealant (TS6) prior to reinstall and use.
